2014 - Year in Review

2014 was an incredible year.  I overcame many personal boundaries and accomplished more than I could have ever imagined possible.  Photography was definitely at the forefront, more than it had ever been for me, and I loved every minute of it.  Every shoot, every wedding, every workshop... I lapped it all up.

I would like to thank each and every person who has supported my work this past year.  Your uplifting words and kindness have been instrumental to my success, and have driven me to push myself even harder.  I would also like to thank my friend and MUHA, Emily Phung, for her time, dedication and the truly beautiful work she has done for the clients of First Glance Studios.  I look forward to working alongside you in the future.

In closing, I leave a few of my favourites from this past year:

It's hard to believe that only a few weeks ago there was no snow on the ground.  The fall season always seems to pass by too quickly.   I love fall weather, so it's no surprise to me that outdoor fall photo shoots rank among my favorites to do.  The colors, the textures, the contrast... I love it all.

In October, I had the pleasure of photographing a very dear friend of mine and her beautiful family.  I have known Cherissa since 2006 when I began working at Grey Nuns Hospital.  It didn't take long before we were friends.  I attended Cherissa and Rey's wedding in the summer of 2007, and I remember meeting Caiya for the first time, only hours after she was born in July of 2008.  I have enjoyed seeing them grow as a family over the years, and I feel truly honored that they chose me to capture these family photos for them this year.   Each year they have family photos taken.  I love that they make this a priority and not only will they enjoy looking back on the photos, but so will Caiya when she is all grown up.

Cherissa, Rey & Caiya - Thank you for choosing me to document these special moments.
